Further clarification on E7 fault on attached Pdf Service Memo's
A04/19 - Diagnostic flow chart E7 which included spare parts identification
A05/19 - IPM PCB replacement procedure
Diagnostic flow chart required to follow for E7 faults – Error with Communication between the indoor and outdoor unit on Haier HSU-xx-HEG, HSU-xx-HEK, Convair CVxx/ODUxx and Braemar BMxx/ODUxx High Wall Splits.
E7 Communications errors can be caused by:
• Indoor PCB
• Outdoor fan motor
• Outdoor Main PCB
• Outdoor Power module (IPM)
• Wiring between indoor and outdoor unit
IMPORTANT!!!
Quick Diagnosis information for E7 error:
• If indoor unit is working there is no need to change any indoor components
• When disconnected from the main PCB if the outdoor fan motor spins freely it does not have a short or open circuit and therefore, does not require replacement. If hard to spin it has a short or open circuit and has potentially caused damage to the Main PCB as well as the IPM. Therefore, this is the only occasion that ALL 3 x components (Main PCB, IPM and Outdoor fan motor) should be changed.
E7: Communication fault between indoor and outdoor unit
E7: Communication fault between IPM and outdoor
The IPM / Power Modules and PCB’s are used in different models. Therefore, it is imperative to make sure the correct model number accompanies the correct part number.
