SERVICE MEMO CPMD HIDDEN MINIMUM SPEED ADJUSTMENT – NOT APPLICABLE FOR MAGIQTOUCH COMPATIBLE PRODUCTS
Please find information below and attached Service Memo CPMD hidden parameter Pdf:
This parameter is not published in any literature as it is only applicable to the CPMD product no longer used in manufacturing. Hence, will only be seen in newly installed CPMD conversion kits.
The symptom described will be the motor runs on high speed only no matter what the wall control is set to and adjustment of the minimum speed potentiometer on the CPMD makes no difference.
NB: If you change this parameter by mistake on a test controller it will continually automatically upload into any CPMD product you plug into until you change the hidden parameter back to 00.
Also, – Setting up of the motor amps is critical to the speed variation of CPMD products
- Variable motors not set up correctly to draw full load current on high will not achieve correct speed variation. This is due to the characteristics of the electronics which is load dependent.

Setting up B56 Belt Drive Motors - Important points
Some important points to be aware of when setting up belt drive centrifugal motors
Current reading is too low
- Make sure windows and doors of the building are open to allow exhaust of air. Back pressure will cause the centrifugal fan to slow down and therefore current may be low.
- Make sure all pads are on the cooler except one where you have your Amp meter (tong tester) connected.
- Make sure all outlets are open inside to prevent back pressure and the centrifugal fan to slow down and therefore current will be low.
- Variable speed motors should only be tonged on high speed as the low speed reading is irrelevant and can be misleading
Current reading is too high?
- Make sure there is no negative pressure inside the building (exhaust fans operating with not enough relief air openings) which will cause the motor to spin faster than design and give a high current reading.
IMPORTANT POINTS
- Seeley B56 Motors have been designed to work effectively when set up correctly. If the motor isn't set up correctly to draw full load current on high it will effect the performance and life of the motor.
- Variable motors not set up correctly to draw full load current on high will not achieve correct speed variation. This is due to the characteristics of the electronics which is load dependent.
