WF30/40 Overtemp testing process. (Main burner and pilot light both go out while running)
The below steps 1-6 must be read in conjunction with attached WF30 40 Overtemp Test procedure
1. The pilot light will "cut out" due to the overtemperature switch activating, or poor pilot flame.
Overtemp could be due to;
a) Gas pressure to high
b) Poor airflow circulation through and around unit
c) Possible faulty overtemp switch
d) Flue restriction
e) Incorrect pilot flame length (Should be 16mm)
2. Clean fan blade as dust and lint build up can cause airflow to be reduced.
3. Test fan capacitor
Test fan capacitor with all wires removed from capacitor. The value should be approximately 2.0uF.
4. Inspect for discolouration and evidence of degrading of the connections on the fan speed resistor and replace if necessary.
5. Measure resistance between Pin 1 and 4 with wires disconnected from the fan speed resistor, the value should be approximately 510 Ohms.
6. Test fan voltage between blue on fan speed resister & neutral on mains power terminal block
Boost - 200VAC
Medium - 160VAC
Low - 125VAC
