TQ Ducted Gas Heater - FC5 - V1.10 ICS board or later require a 2nd thermistor if Add-On Refrigerated Cooling ("AOC) is installed
All Braemar ducted gas heaters fitted with a V1.10 ICS board or later version, where Add-On Refrigerated Cooling (“AOC”) is installed,
please note that a second thermistor is now required for correct Heating and AOC operation.
This 2nd thermistor is required to remove false FC16 conditions when a heater is started with a cold cooling coil, and unable to generate
the temperature rise required to allow the heating cycle to continue automatically.
Often, retrying resolves the false FC16 issue, whereas the addition of the 2nd thermistor will eliminate false FC16 issues
RE-SETTING FC05 IF 2ND THERMISTOR HASN'T BEEN FITTED FOR ADD ON COOLING ("AOC") APPLICATION
- If a heater with a V1.10 ICS board of later version is run in heating mode and then Add on Cooling is fitted and attempted to be run without 2nd thermistor FC05 will display.
- If this occurs the TQ heater will be locked out and displaying FC05 and then eventually after multiple attempts to reset will display FC49
- To allow heating until 2nd thermistor is fitted turn power off to heater for a minimum 60 seconds, then back on, this allows the ICS board to work out it no longer has a cooler and allows system to work in heating only until 2nd thermistor can be fitted.
