MagIQtouch Wi-Fi require modem ports 8883 and 443 enabled to access

Symptom: New installation or new modem can log into smart App but cannot log into wall controller

• Check signal strength is at a minimum 3 dark bars
• Ensure both password and username have been entered correctly
• Is the connection direct to modem or through an Access Point (AP) or Wi-Fi extender? Try connecting direct to modem.
• If through an AP or Wi-Fi Extender these devices must have WPA/WPA2 Encryption enabled otherwise it will not connect to “open” networks
• Some routers have a limit to the number of devices connected to them at any given time, try disconnecting other Wi-Fi devices and see if you can connect to MagIQtouch
• Use a hotspot on a mobile phone for the Wi-Fi connection. If it works then we know the modem/AP/Wi-Fi extender is the issue
• Check your modem to ensure that ports 8883 and 443 are enabled as these ports allow the Wi-Fi interface to communicate with the cloud. Without these ports enabled the system cannot communicate with the Seeley App server

IMPORTANT: Enabling ports on a modem requires editing the modem setting. Unless you have the necessary skills to make these changes safely it is strongly recommended that you contact your Wi-Fi service provider to enable the ports that are disabled (blocked)
Seeley International are unable to assist with adjustments to customers modems as they are all different and may be locked for security reasons that only the internet provider can access.
