YouTube video Spectrolink SCC spare part # 077390 System Setup Procedure:

To view the YouTube video on setting up the Spectrolink SCC system, please follow this link.

Compatible Heating Models:

  • Braemar TH & TG Series: These are gas ducted heaters that come with BSC control boards.
  • Older Braemar Models with SPI or MPI Controls: Specifically, the TE & TA models (SPI) and TM & TE models (MPI).
  • Converted Braemar Heaters: Models that have been upgraded from SPI (TE & TA) or MPI (TE) to BSC electronic control systems.

Compatible Cooling Models:

  • Seeley Evaporative Coolers: Breezair, Braemar, and Coolair that use CPMD electronics, introduced in October 2001.
  • Refrigerated Cooling Systems: Can operate fixed speed add on refrigeration or fan-only modes.

Factory Settings:

  • The Spectrolink is pre-set for Braemar TH & TG heaters and Seeley evaporative coolers.

Spectrolink SCC System Setup:

Set heater and cooler type
Set maximum fan speed
Enable zones - only for TG and TH products using BSC PCB
Set zone fan speed - only for TG and TH products using BSC PCB

To avoid unintended adjustments by customers, it's essential to configure the maximum fan speed, installed zones, zone fan speeds, and heater and cooler types within the first hour of activating the Spectrolink SCC. After this time frame, the Spectrolink SCC should be disconnected, its capacitor discharged, and then reconnected.

Setup Steps:

  1. Selecting Heater and Cooler Type:

    • Ensure the system is off and in ‘heat’ mode.
    • Reset if needed by disconnecting and discharging the capacitor.
    • Press “SET” and “AC MODE” simultaneously.
    • For Braemar BSC systems (TH & TG), the display will show “HEAT 3”.
    • For older models (TE & TA or TM & TE), use the arrows to select “HEAT 1” (SPI) or “HEAT 2” (MPI) and press “SET”.
    • For cooling, “COOL 1” is for evaporative systems, and “COOL 2” for fixed speed add on cooling refrigerated systems or allows for fan-only (summer fan) mode.
  2. Fan and Zone Settingsonly for TG and TH products using BSC PCB

    • Determine and set the maximum fan speed.
    • Enable zones and adjust their fan speeds as necessary.

Important Notes:

  • If you select “HEAT 1” or “HEAT 2,” the system won’t work with TH or TG series heaters.
  • Post-March 2006 models should already be on “HEAT 3” and “COOL 1”.
  • For heaters with a BSC conversion kit installed, no changes to the “HEAT 3” setting are required.
