After replacing Direct Drive (DD Icon) motor the fan cuts out after running for a short time

•    If you have recently changed a Direct Drive motor and it runs for a short time before stopping:

•    Turn on to fan only and watch the motor diagnostic LEDs in the control box.

•    If FAN SPEED LED starts to flash a short time after the motor starts.

Most likely, the fan blade has been put in backwards.

•    Check that the concave (inner) curve of the centrifugal fan blade is facing the direction of rotation.

Rotation is anticlockwise if viewed from the side where motor cable is on.

•    As the blade rotates, the inner concave section of the blade scoops and pushes the air into the dropper.

•    If the blade is oriented incorrectly, there is little resistance to rotation, causing the fan to over speed and the fan speed light to flash.
