TQR Heater OT1 Overtemperature Switch Duct Exit Configuration

Overview

The TQR heater allows flexible outlet and supply air configurations by repositioning exterior panels. The OT1 overtemperature switch is now located on the outlet panel to ensure outlet temperatures remain within safe limits.

This guide outlines the steps to reconfigure the duct exit and relocate the OT1 switch.

Tools & Materials Required

  • Screwdriver
  • Cable ties
  • Replacement rubber grommet (if needed)

Reconfiguration Steps

  1. Disconnect OT1 Wiring

    • Unplug the black 90° connectors from the OT1 switch.
    • Cut the cable tie securing the loom to the galvanized bracket.
  2. Remove Panels

    • Remove the current outlet panel.
    • Remove the side panel where the outlet will be relocated.
  3. Remove Heat Shield

    • Carefully detach the heat shield from the heater.
  4. Relocate OT1 Loom

    • Move the OT1 loom to the new side cutout.
    • Remove the rubber grommet from the new cutout and place it in the old cutout hole.
  5. Reinstall Components

    • Reinstall the side panel and heat shield onto the front end.
  6. Special Instruction for RH Exit

    • If configuring for Right-Hand (RH) exit, move the OT1 switch to the RH hole on the bracket so it faces the front of the heater.
  7. Reconnect Wiring

    • Install the outlet panel on the new side.
    • Reconnect the wiring to the OT1 switch.
  8. Secure Loom

    • Use a cable tie to secure the loom to the bracket.
    • Ensure the loom does not contact the heat exchanger tubes.
  9. Final Checks

    • Confirm all panels are securely fastened.
    • Tighten all screws.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Return Air Inlet Panel Adjustment
If the return air inlet panel is moved to the motor side of the room fan:

    • Increase the diameter of the air inlet spigot and the full run of inlet duct by 50mm to maintain original airflow rate.
  • Panel Placement Restriction
The return air inlet panel must be fitted to the side of the heater.
Do not install it on the end of the heater.
