Common Issue
Users are unable to connect the air conditioning unit to their mobile device. The error message "Failed to connect to device (SD10)" typically indicates a pairing or network compatibility issue.

Important: Begin the connection process within 4 minutes of pressing the reset button on the Wi-Fi module. This is the active pairing window.
Press and hold the Wi-Fi button (on the remote or module) for 5–10 seconds until the LED starts blinking rapidly.

Step 1: Ensure Correct Wi-Fi Settings
• Your phone must be connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
• Most phones default to 5GHz, which is not compatible with the module.
• If your router uses band steering (a single SSID for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz):
1. Log into your router settings.
2. Temporarily disable band steering and turn off the 5GHz band.
3. Once the unit is connected, you can re-enable these settings.

Step 2: Check Your Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID)
• Avoid using special characters (e.g., apostrophes, symbols) in your Wi-Fi name.
• Joe's Wi-Fi Network (may fail)
• Joes Wi-Fi Network (recommended)
• Changing your SSID may require reconnecting with other devices in your home.

Note on Passwords
• We are currently testing whether special characters in Wi-Fi passwords cause issues.
• For now, use a simple password (letters and numbers only) if problems persist.

Step 3: Use the EWPE App
1. Download the EWPE app from the App Store or Google Play.
2. Open the app and log in or create an account.
3. Tap the “+” icon to add a new device and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 4: Use a Mobile Hotspot (If needed)
If the connection still fails:
• Use a second phone to create a 2.4GHz hotspot with a simple SSID and password.
• Connect your primary phone to this hotspot and retry the setup.
• If successful, update the firmware via the app.
