Purpose
This guide provides technicians, installers, and support agents with clear, step‑by‑step instructions to connect a Braemar KGHA Dominator Reverse Cycle Hybrid System to the EWPE Smart app using the LE60 Zone Kit.
It also includes fixes for the most common connection fault:
SD10 – “Failed to connect to device.”
Required Components
From the KGHA Wi‑Fi installation overview video:
- Braemar KGHA Dominator Indoor Unit
- LE60 Zone Control Kit
- LE60 Master Controller
- RF Zone Remotes
- ME31‑00/C13 Wi‑Fi Interface Module
- EWPE Smart App (EWP)
- Compatible 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network
Before You Begin
- All LE60 zones must be configured according to the installation manual.
- RF remotes must be addressed to their correct zones.
- Wi‑Fi module must be connected to the correct LE60 PCB port (KGHA connection is different to KGHV – see below).
- Ensure the phone is on 2.4 GHz, not 5 GHz.
- Begin setup within 4 minutes of resetting the Wi‑Fi module (flashing icon).
LE60 Wi‑Fi Module Connection – KGHA Version
KGHA units use a different control PCB layout than KGHV models.
For KGHA:
- The ME31‑00/C13 plugs into the dedicated Wi‑Fi / Comms Port on the zone module side of the LE60 board.
- DO NOT connect to the damper control ports or the RF receiver port.
- When correctly installed:
- Power LED on module = ON
- Wi‑Fi LED flashes after reset

Step‑by‑Step Setup
1. Install & Register EWPE Smart App
- Open EWPE Smart.
- Tap Agree → Register.
- Choose Australia → Save → OK.
- Enter username + email + password.
- Password must be ≥10 chars with a number or special character.
- Tick the software agreement.
- Tap Get Code → enter the email verification code.
2. Reset the Wi‑Fi Module on the LE60
- In the app:
+ → Zone Controller (do NOT press Next yet). - On the LE60 controller:
Function → Page Down → Reset Wi‑Fi → Confirm - Wait for the Wi‑Fi icon to flash on the LE60 display.
- In the app:
Tick the checkbox → Next.
3. Connect to the Device Hotspot (GR‑Z Control)
- App prompts you to join the device hotspot.
- Choose “GR‑Z Control” from the Wi‑Fi list.
- If not shown:
- Tap Choose Other Wi‑Fi
- Wait 30–120 seconds after reset
- Your phone may ask for permission → Connect only this time
⚠ Do NOT select your home Wi‑Fi yet.
The controller hotspot must be connected first.
4. Enter Your Home Wi‑Fi Details
- Select your 2.4 GHz SSID.
- Enter the Wi‑Fi password accurately.
- Confirm the mobile phone is on the same 2.4 GHz SSID.
- Tap Done when the app completes device binding.
If the setup fails or SD10 appears, go to Troubleshooting.
Troubleshooting
Most Common Cause — Band Steering
Many routers combine 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz under one name.
This causes:
- Hotspot pairing failure
- SD10 error
- Device failing to come online
Fix:
- Temporarily disable band steering
- OR rename SSIDs (
Home_2.4GandHome_5G) - OR turn off 5 GHz during pairing
SD10 – “Failed to connect to device (SD10)”
What SD10 Means:
The app cannot verify that the LE60 zone controller has come online after receiving Wi‑Fi credentials.
SD10 Fix Checklist
✔ Phone on 2.4 GHz, not 5 GHz
✔ Re‑enter Wi‑Fi password (typos are very common)
✔ SSID must avoid special characters
✔ Password ≤16 characters
✔ Router within 10 m of indoor unit
✔ Module inserted in correct KGHA port
Router Settings to Check
- AP Isolation / Privacy Mode: OFF
- MAC Filtering: OFF
- WMM: ON
- Encryption:
- WPA2‑PSK
- or WPA/WPA2 Mixed
(Wi‑Fi 6 routers sometimes fail on WPA3‑only modes)
Mobile Hotspot Diagnostic Test
This identifies router configuration issues.
- Phone A → Create 2.4 GHz hotspot
- Phone B → Connect to Phone A hotspot
- Perform EWPE setup again
If it works → Home router is the issue
If it fails → Module or phone problem
Bluetooth‑Assisted Setup
If the app asks for Bluetooth:
- Turn on Bluetooth
- Allow location permission
- Keep phone close to LE60
Additional Known Causes
- Wrong or loose Wi‑Fi module
- Not joining “GR‑Z Control”
- Wi‑Fi reset not completed (no flashing icon)
- Router DHCP full (home networks with >100 devices)
- Using 5 GHz during setup
EWPE Error Code Quick Reference
| Error Code | Meaning | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| SD03 | App attempting device hotspot connection | Reset Wi‑Fi, check for GR‑Z Control |
| SD06 | Device responding to app | Change encryption to WPA2‑PSK / WPA‑Mixed |
| SD10 | Device not online after binding | Run SD10 checklist |
| ZD03 | Router info received | Ensure router broadcast is enabled |
| LY01 / LY08 | Bluetooth steps required | Enable BT + permissions |
