Important Installation Notice
(Manual pages 2–5)
Failure to install or commission the LPQV cooler in accordance with the installation manual may void warranty and expose the installer or retailer to liability. All work must be completed by suitably qualified personnel and comply with relevant electrical, plumbing, WHS, and building regulations.
Safety & Compliance Requirements
(Pages 2–5)
Key safety requirements include:
- All‑pole electrical isolation incorporated into fixed wiring
- Approved water supply pressure and flow
- New hose sets only (do not reuse old hoses)
- Cooler not approved for bushfire zones BAL‑12.5 to BAL‑FZ
- Roof work risk assessments and fall protection required
Cooler Location & Clearances
(Pages 6–7)
Correct location is critical for performance, safety, and serviceability:
- Roof must support cooler and service load
- Maintain minimum clearances, including:
- 1.5 m from gas flues
- 1.0 m from solar panels
- 600 mm from walls
- Sufficient access for maintenance
- Consider noise, airflow, duct balance, and neighbouring properties
Installation Overview – Quick Guide
(Pages 4–5)
High‑level installation sequence:
- Review safety and site access
- Remove venturi and transition
- Prepare and mount dropper at 22.5°
- Install support brackets
- Secure transition and weatherseal
- Lift cooler to roof (two‑person minimum)
- Mount cooler (no screws to transition)
- Install cables and venturi/fan assembly
- Connect water and electrical components
- Commission and complete final checks
Dropper, Transition & Mounting
(Pages 8–11)
- Dropper size: 550 × 550 mm
- Flanges must not be folded
- Flash dropper to roof to prevent water ingress
- Support brackets must be installed before transition
- Dropper pitched at 22.5° for all roof angles
- Cooler clips into transition — do not screw cooler to transition
Weatherseal & Roof Lifting
(Pages 10–12)
- Weatherseal flaps must move freely
- Ensure cables do not interfere with weatherseal
- Always use correct lifting techniques and safety equipment
- Never lift using pillars or lid
Water Supply Requirements
(Pages 12–14)
| Requirement | Specification |
|---|---|
| Connection | ½” BSP |
| Min Pressure | 100 kPa |
| Max Pressure | 800 kPa |
| Min Flow | 8 L/min |
| Max Temp | 40 °C |
Additional notes:
- Pressure limiting valve required above 800 kPa
- Install local isolation ball valve
- Drain water must not discharge onto the roof
Electrical Requirements
(Pages 14–15)
- Dedicated 220–240 V single‑phase circuit
- Separate circuit breaker and all‑pole isolation
- Anti‑surge fuse fitted in electronics module
- Damaged supply cords must be replaced by authorised personnel only
Controller Connection – MagIQtouch / MagIQcool
(Pages 16–18)
