PC Fault Code - Current Sense Circuit Error
⚠️ Safety Notice – Reverse Cycle Air Conditioners
This equipment must only be installed, commissioned, serviced and repaired by suitably qualified and licensed personnel.
Before commencing work, complete a task-specific risk assessment and ensure electrical isolation procedures, safe access, adequate service clearances and appropriate PPE have been considered. All work must comply with applicable regulations, standards and manufacturer requirements.
Particular care must be taken when working around electrical systems, refrigerant circuits, moving parts, roof spaces, ceiling spaces, confined spaces and working-at-heights hazards where applicable.
Do not proceed if safe access, required clearances, confined space risks or appropriate safety controls cannot be achieved and maintained.
Safety takes priority over diagnosis, repairs, installation schedules and customer expectations. If the task cannot be completed safely, it must not proceed until the risks have been adequately controlled.
Overview
The PC fault code indicates a current sensing circuit fault within the outdoor unit control system. When this fault is detected, the system will shut down to protect the compressor and associated components.

Symptoms
The customer may report:
- PC displayed on the wall controller
- Unit does not start
- Unit starts then shuts down
- Heating or cooling operation stops unexpectedly
- Outdoor unit locked out
Cause
The PC fault is generated when the outdoor unit detects an abnormal condition in the current sensing circuit used to monitor compressor operation.
Possible causes include:
- Current detection circuit fault
- Current sensor circuit fault
- Current sampling circuit fault
- Outdoor control board failure
Troubleshooting
- Turn the system off and isolate power.
- Inspect all outdoor unit wiring connections for damage, loose terminals, or signs of overheating.
- Restore power and confirm the PC fault returns.
- If the fault remains, replace the outdoor unit main control board (Main PCB).
Resolution
✅ Replace the Main Outdoor PCB (Main Control Board).
After replacement:
- Restore power to the unit.
- Operate the system in both heating and cooling modes.
- Confirm normal compressor operation.
- Verify no further PC faults are displayed.
Parts Required
