⚠️ Safety Notice – Reverse Cycle Air Conditioners

This equipment must only be installed, commissioned, serviced and repaired by suitably qualified and licensed personnel.


Before commencing work, complete a task-specific risk assessment and ensure electrical isolation procedures, safe access, adequate service clearances and appropriate PPE have been considered. All work must comply with applicable regulations, standards and manufacturer requirements.


Particular care must be taken when working around electrical systems, refrigerant circuits, moving parts, roof spaces, ceiling spaces, confined spaces and working-at-heights hazards where applicable.


Do not proceed if safe access, required clearances, confined space risks or appropriate safety controls cannot be achieved and maintained. 


Safety takes priority over diagnosis, repairs, installation schedules and customer expectations. If the task cannot be completed safely, it must not proceed until the risks have been adequately controlled.

Braemar Residential Service Guide ES E247‑A, including:

  • SDHV / SCHV Series – R410A ducted (single & three phase)
  • KDHV / KCHV Series – R32 ducted inverter systems

Important note

Ducted systems use a dedicated fault and protection code structure that differs from wall split, cassette, bulkhead, and multi‑split units.

When diagnosing SDHV or KDHV systems, always refer to the ducted-specific error code table in the service manual.

Common troubleshooting guidance

  1. Confirm the unit is SDHV or KDHV
  2. Reference ducted error code table only (PDF p62+)
  3. Address protection faults before electrical faults
  4. Verify communication wiring for E6 faults
  5. Review commissioning status if recently installed

Avoid common misdiagnosis

  • Do not reference wall split or cassette fault charts
  • Do not apply non‑ducted fault logic to ducted systems
  • Always identify system type before fault diagnosis
