Overview
This article explains how to connect and configure the EWPE Smart App for Braemar KDHV Ducted and KBHV Cassette air conditioning systems using the standard wired controller.
⚠️ Important:
This procedure does not apply to systems using the LE60 controller.
Compatible Systems
- ✅ Braemar KDHV Ducted
- ✅ Braemar KBHV Cassette
- ✅ Systems fitted with a standard wired controller
Requirements
Before starting, ensure you have the following:
- EWPE Smart App installed on a smartphone
- iOS App Store or Google Play Store
- Home 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network
- Wi‑Fi module correctly installed in the indoor unit
- Indoor unit powered ON
- Smartphone connected to the same Wi‑Fi network
EWPE App Installation
- Download EWPE Smart from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open the app and create an account or log in.
- Enable permissions when prompted (Wi‑Fi & location).
Placing the Air Conditioner into Pairing Mode
- Switch the air conditioner ON using the wired controller.
- Access the Wi‑Fi / AP / Network setup function from the controller.
- Activate Wi‑Fi pairing mode.
- A flashing Wi‑Fi symbol or indicator confirms pairing mode is active.
ℹ️ If pairing mode times out, repeat this step.
Adding the Unit in the EWPE App
- Open the EWPE Smart App.
- Tap Add Device or “+”.
- Select:
- Air Conditioner
- Wi‑Fi Connection Mode (AP Mode if prompted)
- Enter your Wi‑Fi network name (SSID) and password.
- Wait while the app connects to the unit.
- Confirm the device appears in your device list.
Confirmation
Once connected:
- The air conditioner will appear in the EWPE dashboard
- You can:
- Power ON/OFF
- Change modes (Cool / Heat / Fan)
- Adjust temperature
- Set timers and schedules
Troubleshooting
Device Not Found
- Confirm Wi‑Fi is 2.4 GHz (not 5 GHz)
- Ensure the unit is in pairing mode
- Stand close to the indoor unit during setup
Connection Fails
- Re‑enter Wi‑Fi password carefully
- Restart:
- Router
- Air conditioner
- Mobile phone
- Remove the device from the app and re‑add it
App Connects but Unit Does Not Respond
- Confirm Wi‑Fi module is installed correctly
- Power‑cycle the system at the isolator
- Retry pairing
Additional Notes
- Only one mobile device is required for setup, but multiple users can be added after installation
- Remote access works once the unit is connected to the internet
- Router firewalls or mesh systems may affect pairing
